The invention of software-hardware apparatuses is central to Alexandre Burton’s artistic
process, which he definess as lutherie numérique, where designing an instrument is the equivalent of designing the potential
territory of future works. His production often combines physical (energy) phenomema with audiovisual digital sampling processes.
His works are conceived with some level of open-endedness to let the phenonema draw their own maps, sometimes under the watch
of the performer.
