Karen Sarkisyan will overview the basic principles of life organization at the molecular level.
He will then highlight some of the most recent applications of biotechnology that are based on these principles, including
his work on the development of glow-in-the-dark plants, as well as interesting biotech projects of other groups in the fields
of material design, biomedicine, information storage, and others. No knowledge of biology is required for this talk.

About Karen Sarkisyan
Karen did his Ph.D. on fluorescent proteins
development with Konstantin Lukyanov and Alexander Mishin in Moscow and then worked on protein evolution with Fyodor Kondrashov
in Barcelona and Vienna. Karen moved to London in September 2018 to start a new lab.
