Study Trip Paris
2007

In Oktober the Studio went to Paris for 6 days to
see the Villa Savoye, ESA (Marie Helene Fabre), Fondation Cartier, Galerie la
Fayette and took a tour through the Opera Garnier. We met with Francois Roche
and Freier Nami. We visited the Louvre (FIAC Paris) , Le Grand Palais (Musee
des art decoratif on the way) , the Institute Monde Arab and Centre Pompidou
and lots more...

Study Trip Italy, Germany Autumn
2006
 In Italy, we first went to
see the Biennale in Venice, where we also visited Il Redentore and San Maggiore
by Pallidio as well as the Doges palast. After Venice, we headed on towards Treviso District
and visited Villa Barbaro and got a tour through Permasteelisa. Vicenza, Mantua and Torino were our next stops, where we visited Villa
Rotunda, Pallazo Ducale and the amazing Lingotto Fiat Factory. Driving from Italy to Germany
we stopped in Bregenz and finally arrived in Munich. At the BMW construction site, Prof.
Prix gave all three studios a tour through the site.
Study Trip Australia Spring 2006
 In March 2006, we visited Australia
for two weeks. With rental cars, we covered a distance of about 4500 km and
visited, among others, Melbourne, the Outback, Sydney and Canberra. We got an impressive overview of
the varied landscapes and different cities on the continent.Wealso have been to
RMIT in Melbourne and visitied the offices of Arup in Sydney for a discussion
about the Aquatic Center in Bejing.Architectural tours in Melbourne by Simon
Knott, and tours in Sydney and Canberra topped our study trip

Zu Beginn des Wintersemesters
haben wir 5 verschiedene Städte in China besucht. Das Hauptziel dieser
Reise lag in der Dokumentation der einzigartigen Entwicklung des Landes zur
Zeit. Zudem wurden Grossprojekte als vorbereitendes Semester-research
analysiert und dokumentiert. Da für alle die Kultur und das Land neu und
besonders faszinierend war, sind die Eindrücke nicht nur durch die Architektur
sondern durch alle Bereiche des Lebens besonders geprägt. Zudem konnte der
Eindruck noch durch geführte Touren und Gespräche mit u.a. Thomas Polster
(Herzog & deMeuron, Beijing), Patrick Cranley (Shanghai), Gary
Chang (Edge Design, HongKong) und Frank Yu (Gravitypartnership, HongKong)
vertieft werden. WS 04/05 started with a study
trip to 5 different cities of china. The fpocus of this trip was to witness the pace of the recent
develpoment of the country and research on large scale development as an
initiating basis of the semester topic. The country and culture was an amazing
experience on it's own for everybody, so that lots of the impressive
documentation are from all parts of life in china. In addition we could deepen
and complete our experience with guided tours and comments by Thomas Polster

Rohe in Brünn in der Tschechischen Republik. An Hand der
Studieeinesrepresentativen Bauwerks der Moderne soll die Sensibilität für
Materialien, Details und dasZusammenspiel von Einzelteilen ausgeprägt
werden. The SS04 started with a day trip to the Villa
Tugendhat by LMvdRin Brno
in the Czech Republic. The analysis of thisseminal building of Modernism
improved the students sensibility for materials, details and the interplay of
various building components. Bratislava,
Slovakei/Slovenskej Republik
Die Klasse begleitete im WS 03/04 Prof. Greg Lynn zu der Verleihung des
Ehrendoktortitels nach Bratislava in die Slovakei. Vielen Dank an die Architekturabteilung der
VSVU/
AFAD (Academy of Fine Arts and Design Bratislava)für
den Stadtrundgang. The studioaccompanied Prof. Greg Lynn to
thepresentation of his honorary doctoratal degreein Bratislava, Slovakiaduring
the WS 03/04. Thanks to the department of architecture of the VSVU/
AFADforgivingus a tourof the city.
Los Angeles & New York City,
USA
Im Frühjahr SS03 begab sich das Studio auf eine
zwei wvchige Studienreise nach Los Angeles, Californien, Schmelztiegel für die
Automobil-, Flug- und Filmindustrie. Neben der Besichtigung zahlreicher Case
Study Häuser in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Pacific PalisadesundPalm Springs von
R. Neutra, R. Schindler, P.Kvnig, R. Soriano, R.& C. Eames und D.
Wexler, wurden auch Prototypen Werkstätten, wie North
Sails in Nevada, Spectrum3D
in Tustin, High-Tech
Welding in San Diego und Filmtiteldesigner Imaginary
Forces in Hollywood besucht. Der Rückflug
erlaubte einen Abstecher nach New York City und die Besichtigung der Korean
Presbyterian Church von Greg Lynn. Inthe SS03 the studio made a two week
study trip to L.A., California - hot spot for the automobile,
aeronautic and film industries. In addition tovisiting case study houses in
Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Pacific Palisades and Palm Springs by R. Neutra, R.

Im WS 02/03 besucht die Klasse die Ausstellung Latent
Utopias,kuratiert vonZaha Hadid und Patrick
Schumacherin Graz, in der unter anderem auch Greg Lynn seine Arbeiten
ausstellt. In the WS 02/03 the studio visited Graz for the
Latent
Utopiasexhibition, which was curated by Z. Hadid and
P. Schumacher. Greg Lynnpresented various examples ofhis work for this
show.
