In this lecture we walk through paths created by artists, philosophers, activists and many more inspiring people who dared to “break” the hierarchical and phallic ways of creating knowledge in instuitions and in society. In the words of Grada Kilomba, we will travel through “Poetic disobediences”.
Digressing in this workshop will take the implication of mixing theory and practice. As we travel to a theoretic part that will be focused on the creative process within the perspective of empowerment and collectiveness, we will make stops on a practical pathways as we watch videos from artists given an insight of their works and research, philosophers thoughts will be visited in form of poetry and speech and hopefully many more.
The final destination of our lecture will be a moment to exchange within the participants of the workshop.
Denise Palmieri is a Brazilian artist based in Vienna. As a performance artist, she mixes experience and consciousness unfolding ritualistic aspects of the body and the voice questioning binary, normative knowledge production.
