15. November 2020
Dear
university members,
The new measures announced yesterday by the federal government to contain the
coronavirus oblige us to temporarily reduce the university's on site operations even further.
With
Tue, 17.11.2020, the operating mode RED will therefore come into effect until further notice.
The new operating mode stipulates the following changes:
- All courses (artistic
and scientific) will take place in distance learning mode.
- Artistic work on site is only possible in connection
with final study (section) work; this applies to students and their supervisors (information on the admission procedure is
available from the department heads on Mon, 16.11.2020).
- All employees are in the home office. Onsite working is only
permitted for those tasks absolutely necessary to maintain the system.
- Access to the university buildings is possible
(with admission control) from Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm for the aforementioned purposes (final papers and system
maintenance) via the main entrances. At night and on weekends the buildings are closed and access cards are deactivated.
- The
service zones located in the foyer at Oskar Kokoschka Square and in the atrium in VZA7 will be reinstalled and can be used
during the aforementioned opening hours.
- The University Library will be closed. Borrowing is possible after
pre-booking and collection in the service zone in VZA7.
Transition phase:
On
Mon, 16.11.2020 the ORANGE operating mode remains in place. Pick-ups from the offices and studios are still possible until
Wed, 18.11.2020 (during the opening hours mentioned above); on Thu, 19.11.2020, admission control comes into effect. If courses
announced for tomorrow Mon, 16.11.2020, already change to distance learning tomorrow, we ask the course instructor to communicate
this clearly to the participating students.
The regulations in detail can be found
here.
Please note that the operating scenario document dated November 15, 2020 is valid with immediate effect. If you have any questions,
please contact the Covid staff office (
covid@uni-ak.ac.at).
The
fire of mourning will burn as planned until Tue, 17.11.2020, 7pm. We would like to point out that the new
exit restrictions already apply from Tuesday and therefore the fire may only be visited individually (not in groups) on this
day.
We will thoroughly evaluate the regulations again during the course of the week and
will also discuss our further options until the end of the semester. Our goal is to continue to provide as much on-site teaching
as possible on site. We will keep you updated with any developments.
Many thanks and all the best
for the coming weeks!
