Recognizing the growing interconnectedness of the world´s divers populations the project will enable students and faculties to explore design as an equal partner with technology, science, engeneering and urban palnning in adressing social and humanitarian needs. This practice based project will discover new forms of knowledge transfer to evaluate the status and living conditions of the worlds refugee and displaced persons population - in regards to the life and work in transit of the internationally reknown designer and role model Josef Frank. Vienna born, forced to leave due to Anti-Semitic restrictions, he moved to Sweden, where he once again became a refugee through WW2 and emigrated to New York City.
