description
FIRST YEAR COLLOQUIUM AND RESEARCH EXHIBITION „DESIGN PROBES“ The First Year Colloquium is a shared evaluation event in which all ESRs present their research questions and methodologies. The seminar invites therefore all beneficiaries and industry partners to discuss and review the proposals in plenum. This includes review and evaluation of industrial collaboration and secondment programme including the first secondment period. Keynote speakers will give a lecture to open up the research field of WP3 to WP5 to give a broader vision of the overall topic. Invited scientists will do evaluation of level of work and progress within the network. Meetings of the Steering Committee, ESR’s, and Industry Partners take place during the third day of the Colloquium. The Colloquium is organised around three sessions presenting the three Work Packages: WP3 Communicating Design, Chair Jan Knippers, ITKE // WP4 Simulating for Design, Chair Ulrika Knagenhielm-Karlsson, KTH // WP5 Materialising Design, Chair Bob Sheil, BSA ESRs are asked to present their individual ESR Research, Training and Career Plan in a 30 min presentation. The presentations will include the overarching research question and method as well as progress on the design probes, tests, and evaluation (please see Training Plan). The presentations will be followed by feedback from a panel of beneficiaries, industry partners and the ESR group (about 20 min). A group of invited peers will further extend the conversation allowing an external view on progress within the network. Design probes of all ESRs will be exhibited.
