ORANGE operating mode will be in effect!

03. December 2020
Dear university members,

Starting with Wednesday, December 9, 2020, the ORANGE operating mode will be in effect again at the Angewandte until further notice. In coordination with the Austrian universities of the arts, we are thus following the recommendations of the Ministry of Science:  Artistic teaching, which can only be substituted digitally with difficulty or under great restrictions, can take place again, provided that the known rules of distance are observed.

Please note:
  • Artistic work on site is possible again during opening hours. The necessary distance of 1.5m must be kept, wearing mouth-and-nose-protection is obligatory in direct contact with others and when not working at your desk.
  • Artistic courses (ZKF, workshops, courses in centrally reservable rooms, etc.) can take place on site again, provided that the 1.5m safety distance is observed. We ask all course directors to decide at their own discretion for which teaching formats presence is necessary and which can also take place digitally.  Large groups on site should be avoided. Please communicate clearly and early to the participating students, also via entry on base Angewandte!
  • Academic courses remain in distance.
  • For all employees, home office is still required, unless their presence on site is necessary for the continuation of university operations. This decision is within the responsibility of the respective supervisor.
  • The University Library resumes reduced on-site operations for university members.
  • The University Gallery in Heiligenkreuzerhof will reopen its doors in analogy to the regulations for art galleries and museums.
  • Appointments and meetings will continue to take place by telephone or via video conference and only in absolutely necessary exceptional cases on site.
  • Access to and stay in the university buildings is possible from Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm via the main entrances. At night and on weekends the buildings are closed and access cards are deactivated.
  • In case of Covid disease or suspicion of Covid, we ask you to contact the Covid staff office (covid@uni-ak.ac.at) immediately, who will inform you about the further procedure. The report is also essential for internal (anonymized) statistics, which help us to monitor the infection incidence at the Angewandte and to respond appropriately cautiously.

All detailed regulations can be found as usual at www.dieangewandte.at/covid19. If you have any questions, please contact the Covid staff office (covid@uni-ak.ac.at).

We would like to thank you very much for your cooperation - especially during the past two and a half weeks, which have again been particularly challenging - and are glad that the facilities on site can now be used more intensively again.

With best wishes,
Gerald Bast, Bernhard Kernegger, Barbara Putz-Plecko, Eva Maria Stadler and Maria Zettler
