Creative Climate Care II
03. July 2020
MAK is showing its second pop-up exhibition in the course of the series CREATIVE CLIMATE CARE, a cooperation
with the University of Applied Arts Vienna
With the beginning of modern travel culture, the demand for large
overseas suitcases decreased. For train, car and finally airplane travels, smaller pieces of luggage were asked for; today,
carry-on baggage formats and trolleys are everyday items. With the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, travelling came to
an abrupt end; all trips abroad had to be cancelled. During the lockdown, the handy companions were mutating to remnants of
carefree times—and even more so, with regards to climate change, they can be seen as memorials of climate-hostile budget flights.
