The project manager of Louis Vuitton's new design competition was in Vienna to meet the students from the Fashion Department in person and took a closer look at their study environment: "The University of Applied Arts Vienna is unique. As a public University, it puts a lot of energy in forming new talents and supporting their creativity, thanks to exceptional professors like Craig Green and before him for instance Grace Wales Bonner. Sinneswandel - A Hackers Guide to Perception

21. February 2024
Science Visualization Lab

Registration is open for extraordinary teaching course "Sinneswandel - A Hackers Guide to Perception".

What we do not perceive, we cannot truly understand. Therefore, it is important to sharpen our senses and also expand them with technical aids to be able to interact adequately with a complex and dynamic environment. Our senses help our brain to perceive things, especially because they harmonize together. Left on their own, a single sense can easily deceive us. Through the interplay of the senses, however, the brain can process impressions and combine them with previously gathered experiences. Within the course, students playfully learn methods and practices in workshops to sharpen and expand their senses. As a result, they can perceive their environment more precisely and comprehensively, finding solutions to the challenges of our time.
