The scientific visualization CRISPR/Cas9-NHEJ: Action in the Nucleus follows standard dramaturgy. First, the world in which the story takes place is introduced. For this purpose, a schematic cell model (resembling pictures that viewers should recognize from biology class) is exposed. The key objective of this opening scene is tangible recognition while also indicating the complexity inside cell structures. Then, traveling through a nucleus pore acting as a portal to reach the interior of the cell nucleus where the main protagonists of the short story are waiting. One can see nucleic acids (DNA) and two Cas9 endonucleases which form Cas9 complexes in building a compound with Guide RNAs. Immediately thereafter, these newly formed Cas9 complexes migrate unerringly to the cutting sites of the DNA strand. This is simplified, but the unimaginably more complex reality is hinted by dense walls of nucleosomes in the background. The climax is the "cut" of the DNA strand by the Cas9 proteins. After the main protagonists complete their operation and knock out the marked DNA sequence strand, they leave the "stage" again to make way for the cell's own repair system. Nucleases, polymerases, and ligases accomplish their work by rejoining the DNA strand.
