The workshop ‘Symposia Prophecy’ will explore the performative format of a bio-mediated symposium as a collective value prediction system between humans, other-than-human species, body effluvia and technologies. The two-day event invites seven guests to debate their viewpoints on economic utopias of sustainability and how new forms of marked prediction could support them. Klaus Spiess and Lucie Strecker will present the state of their research on human - fungi – symbiosis: How could theses microbes and marked data exchange information and mutually learn from each other? Irini Athanassakis is considering breast milk as currency, running from one body to another enabling life and growth. She will discuss breast-feeding as a life-technique that is strongly shaped by cultures and technologies. The necessity of giving and taking breast milk will serve as a model for revised economic thinking. Participants will take practically part in the technical stage set up and will be actively involved in a test run. The used media technologies will be skin resistance biometrics, a screen interface with online art-marked rankings and bio data of genetically modified yeast cells, that are life stream from a genetic laboratory in Salzburg, Austria. Performative methods such as biotactics, somatic techniques, ritual and action theatre will be conveyed. Furthermore the participants will meet the Performance-Artist-As-Shaman SHERRY, who is web-streamed from NYC, and who will share her artistic knowledge on informationalized body substances and affects as exchange modes within such a new kind of symposia format. The informational loop between media interventions, artists/audience affects and fungi metabolic or even reproductive behavior initializes public discussions about the artists’ ecological and economical ethics. In our set up ‘intensities’ and ‘values’ are measured by skin resistance biometrics, by online art-marked rankings and by the artists’ fungi reactions, that grow in bioreactor, located in a genetic laboratory in Salzburg, Austria and that are web-streamed live. The system is influenced and controlled by interventions of a shaman, who is web-streamed as well, and who is experienced in the performance of body fluids as exchange values. The informational loop between media interventions, artists/audience affects and fungi metabolic or even reproductive behavior initializes public discussions about the artists’ ecological and economical ethics.
