How to perceive one reality through another? Deeply interested in the fundamental translational processes of human sense-making with all senses Nikolaus Gansterer questions how these immanent and situative constructions of meaning could be notated and expanded towards a radical autopoiesis: where a line of thought becomes a line on paper, turns into a line in space or a line verbalized, and then again a line articulated with the whole body or transforms into an object as a score for performing with others. In collaboration with Sophie Orlando and Katrin Ströbel and invited guests (philosopher Alex Arteaga and choreographer Lilia Mestre) Nikolaus Gansterer will further explore the notion of con-notation. The fragile artefacts created during his research residency along with recent work of Nikolaus Gansterer will be accessible in the extensive exhibition "Con-notations" at Centre d'art of Villa Arson, which will open on the 9th of March 2018 together with a retrospective of work by Gianfranco Baruchello curated by Nicolas Bourriaud.
