An der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien ist ab 3. Oktober 2023 eine
Universitätsprofessur (m/w/d)
für das zentrale
künstlerische Fach im Studienzweig „Mode“
der Studienrichtung Design
zu besetzen.
Die Position ist am Institut für Design angesiedelt. Die Position wird befristet auf drei Jahre besetzt, eine spätere Vertragsverlängerung
ist in beiderseitigem Einvernehmen möglich.
Der*die Professor*in soll durch künstlerische Kompetenz und pädagogisches
Engagement sicherstellen, dass die Studierenden im zentralen künstlerischen Fach „Mode“ in ihrer künstlerischen Entwicklung
betreut und gefördert werden.
Gesucht wird daher ein*e international erfolgreiche*r
Modedesigner*in, welche*r
- mit aktuellen künstlerischen Positionen im Bereich des Modedesigns vertraut ist
- inhaltlich
und zeitlich in der Lage ist, die Studierenden im zentralen künstlerischen Fach „Mode“ im Rahmen des Diplomstudiums „Design“
zu betreuen
- über didaktische Fähigkeiten und Begeisterungsfähigkeit in der Arbeit mit Studierenden (in Form von regelmäßigen
Unterrichts- und Korrektureinheiten) und eventuell sogar über universitäre Lehrerfahrung verfügt
- zur engagierten Mitarbeit
an den inneruniversitären Entscheidungsfindungsprozessen bereit ist
- Teamfähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Arbeit mit
einem vorhandenen Stab an Mitarbeiter*innen besitzt
- außenwirksame Aktivitäten der Universität bzw. der Abteilung (Ausstellungen,
Veranstaltungen, Kooperationsprojekte mit außeruniversitären Partnern) unterstützt und interdisziplinäre sowie internationale
Projekte fördert sowie
- nationale und internationale Kontakte im Kunst- und Kulturbetrieb zur Unterstützung der Studierenden
und Absolvent*innen im Studium und beim Aufbau von nationalen und internationalen Netzwerken einbringen kann
Das
verhandelbare Mindestgehalt für Professor*innen beträgt laut Kollektivvertrag Euro 5.437,70 brutto monatlich, 14 x im Jahr.

The University of Applied Arts Vienna has an opening for the position of
University Professor (m/f/d)
in Fashion Design
starting from October 3, 2023 for a fixed period of three years. (By mutual agreement an extension of contract is possible.)
The position is based at the Institute of Design, at the study program “Fashion”.
Through artistic competence
and dedication to teaching, the professor should be able and willing to assure that students of the study program “Fashion”
are supported and guided in their artistic development.
Thus the University is seeking an
internationally successful fashion designer who
- is thoroughly acquainted with current artistic positions in the
field of fashion design, and who through his/her own artistic work is personally involved in the continued development of
contemporary artistic positions
- is both in terms of content and investment of time in a position to oversee the work
of students of the central artistic discipline “Fashion” within the framework of the degree program “Design”
- possesses
both the didactic ability and the enthusiasm necessary to work with students (in regular teaching and critique sessions),
and if possible also possesses university teaching experience
- is willing to participate actively in decision-making
processes essential to the University's operation and development
- is able to work as part of a team and is ready to
work together with the University's existing staff and faculty
- will support the public activities of the University
and his/her Department (exhibitions, events, cooperative projects with extra-university partners) and will promote interdisciplinary
and international projects
- brings with him/her national and international contacts in the fields of art and culture
and is willing to help students and graduates in developing national and international networks
The monthly salary
is based on the current Austrian “Collective Wage Agreement” which is € 5,437.70 gross – paid 14 times annually. In accordance
with “Collective Wage Agreement”, the salary may be higher dependent on previous work experience.
