Within the scope of art teacher training, the current goal of departmental teaching is to provide students with all the competences that they need to initiate, support and evaluate design processes. The starting-point in this regard is provided primarily by both design and the process of architectural design and the resulting analytical and creative competences derived from the critical consideration of differing questions and the development of innovative ideas and concepts, should subsequently be used as “transferable design skills” in a diversity of social contexts.

As a consequence, the growing need for creative management competence both in schools and, to an increasing extent, outside, should be satisfied (among other factors, the current high levels of public funding allocated to creative industries, indicates the significance of creativity in international competition).
