Students are encouraged to develop their positions and intent, to think critically in the context of contemporary art and theory, to interpret, innovate and experiment within a diverse practice.
Technical and conceptual vocabularies are cultivated through individual and group critiques, lectures, visits to museums, galleries and artist studios.
In addition to working with oil and acrylic on canvas, students have the opportunity to develop concepts in Animationsfilm and Tapisserie.
Painting is utilized as a foundation for transforming single frame animation and storyboards into completed films. Students have access to a sound studio, interactive media, and both analog and digital techniques.
In Tapisserie, students translate paintings into gobelins, carpets and textile objects. The mixing and dying of specific colors and theoretical knowledge is also emphasized.
